Tenet Healthcare Corporation



Tenet Healthcare is a healthcare services company involved in the provision of healthcare services, mainly through the operation of general hospitals. At the end of 2004, Tenet Healthcare operated 80 general hospitals with 19,668 licensed beds, serving urban and rural communities in 13 different states. Of those general hospitals, 64 were owned by the Company's subsidiaries and 16 were owned by third parties and leased by the subsidiaries. Each of its general hospitals offers acute care services, operating and recovery rooms, respiratory therapy services, radiology services, clinical laboratories and pharmacies. Most offer intensive care, critical care and/or coronary care units, physical therapy and orthopedic, oncology and outpatient services. Some of the hospitals also offer tertiary care services, such as open-heart surgery, neonatal intensive care and neuroscience. Tenet is restructuring, and will have a core group of 69 hospitals.
