The New York Times Company is a diversified media company, including newspapers and related Internet businesses, television and radio stations, and forest products. The New York Times Company classified its businesses into two units: the News Media Group and the Broadcast Media Group. The News Media Group segment consists of The New York Times Media Group, the New England Media Group and the Regional Media Group. Additionally, the New York Times owns equity interests in a Canadian newsprint company and a paper manufacturing partnership in Maine; the Discovery Times Channel, a digital cable television channel, and New England Sports Ventures, LLC, which owns the Boston Red Sox baseball club. In March 2005, the New York Times acquired About, Inc. from PRIMEDIA Inc.
